Consumer Credit Counseling

Please call our offices at 864-467-3434 ext. 3330 or 1-800-203-9692 to set up your Initial Credit Counseling session. You will need to download or submit a Credit Counseling application packet online before the date of your appointment.

Bankruptcy Counseling

TWO PARTS OF BANKRUPTCY COUNSELING

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT BANKRUPTCY COUNSELING SESSIONS AND EACH ONE INVOLVES DIFFERENT MATERIALS AND SUBJECT MATTER. Be sure you are registered for the correct type of bankruptcy counseling.
PART 1: PRE-FILING. Be sure to ask for "Pre-filing Bankruptcy Counseling" if you have not yet filed but are considering filing for bankruptcy protection.
PART 2: DEBTOR EDUCATION. Ask for "Debtor Education" if you have filed, you know your bankruptcy case number and your attorney or the court has sent you notification to obtain Debtor Education (or money management) counseling.

HOW, WHEN AND WHERE TO OBTAIN COUNSELING AND CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION

Pre-bankruptcy counseling sessions are provided in person or by telephone. Simply call our Greenville office at (864) 467-3434 or (800) 203-9692 and ask for extension 3330 to schedule a convenient time for your appointment.

Pre-discharge Debtor Education counseling is available by attending a class that is held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM in our Greenville office. The class will take approximately 2 hours and PRE REGISTRATION is required by calling the same phone numbers, (864) 467-3434 or (800) 203-9692 extension 3330. Emergency bankruptcy counseling can be scheduled if staff is available by calling the same number.

To schedule a workshop for your group or business, please call 864-467-3434 ext. 3330 or submit a workshop request below. Please include your Name, Place, Date, Time, Workshop Subject, and Contact Information.

Representative Payee

A Representative Payee is an organization appointed by the Veteran's Administration or Social Security to receive Veteran's Benefits, Social Security and/or Supplemental Security Income for someone who cannot manage his or her money.

If you need a Payee or know someone who is in need of a Payee, please call 864-467-3434 ext. 3333 to conduct a telephone interview to determine if you are eligible. If Compass is an appropriate fit for your needs, you will then set up an appointment to meet with the Payee at that time.

Family Counseling

If you have any questions or would like to inquire about scheduling an appointment, please call our Intake Specialist at (864)467-3434, extension 3328.

Most private insurance is accepted. Otherwise, counseling services are offered on a sliding scale. Our office is located at 1100 Rutherford Road in Greenville, South Carolina.

Second Chance

If you have any questions or would like to inquire about the Second Chance Program, please contact Nicole Sheppard at 864-467-3434, ext. 3328 or you may complete the Second Chance Referral Form below.

An introduction session is held every Wednesday at 5:00 pm at Compass of Carolina located at 1100 Rutherford Road in Greenville, SC. Please call to sign up for the introduction session. You are required to register before attending your first class.

The cost of the program is $20/per workshop/per family. Scholarships are available based on financial need.
